US Elections: Insights and Lessons for Lib Dem Campaigning
The Paddy Ashdown Forum and Liberal Democrats Overseas are running an online meeting on digital campaigning in the recent US presidential election with speakers including the Biden campaign's Director of Digital Organising.
Based on analysis conducted by the Liberal Democrats Overseas North American Branch, with practical implications for the Lib Dem Party, this webinar explores how the US Democrats:
• Campaigned virtually to overcome COVID-19 barriers - extending reach, frequency and impact
• Used national digital organizing to massively augment local campaigning efforts and fundraise
• Drove the biggest get-out-the-vote effort in history, tweaking turnout among key target groups
• Developed simple strategic messaging and ensured consistency of delivery in every channel
Speakers:
John Surie, LDO North American Branch Executive Member
John will present the Lib Dems Overseas North American Branch study
Jose Nunez, Director of Digital Organising, Joe Biden Campaign
Jose will give his insights into what worked and what did not work on the campaign digital trail
Mark Pack, President of the Liberal Democrats
Mark will assess how lessons learned might translate into improved Lib Dem campaigning.
